The Day is Set—Tuesday 25th February 2025!
The Providers Unite campaign is on a mission to bring about meaningful change in the social care sector, advocating for increased funding and essential policy reforms to ensure the sustainability of these vital services.
For far too long, providers within the home care sector, supporting individuals in receipt of funded care, have been chronically underfunded by successive governments. This situation has been exasperated by Rachel Reeves winter budget when it became clear that the financial challenges faced by providers would only worsen. Analysis indicates that the true impact on employers may exceed projections by over £2 billion. Yet, only £880 million has been allocated for local government social care funding—an amount that falls woefully short given the demands we face. This situation could force many home care and residential care providers into tough decisions that jeopardise the quality and accessibility of care services.
The Day of Action on 25th February represents a historic moment when at least 5,000 providers from across the country will come together for the first time, demanding the respect, funding, and sustainability that social care urgently needs and deserves. We envision this day as the beginning of a movement—a call to ensure that those who care for our communities, and those they care for, are never overlooked again.
Your support is crucial! We invite everyone involved in the sector— home carers, hospital care workers, recipients of care, families, and anyone who cares about the future of social care for our most vulnerable members of the community—to join us at Westminster, and we hope to see as many supporters as possible at this landmark event.
If you would like to be involved in the campaign but cannot attend the event at Westminster, there are other ways to contribute. Please reach out to us to learn more about how you can help.
